I’ve been negligent, the last few months, in posting to the blog. I will break silence with a general update but will follow soon with some posts about ongoing and new research projects.
If you have not already received the latest Huron Mt. Wildlife Foundation newsletter, you can find it at this website under the ‘News’ menu (or here). In addition to the usual general update on our research program, the lead article (by Jill Riddell) reports on an ongoing study of some very unusual properties of Canyon Lake (see an earlier post on this blog for some background). The research team is led by Dr. Chad Wittkop of Minnesota State University at Mankato and involves scientists from University of Minnesota-Duluth and Iowa State University.
I won’t go into detail on the research and early findings here, both because these are nicely covered in Jill’s article, and because Dr. Wittkop will be the featured speaker at the upcoming annual meeting of the Huron Mt. Wildlife Foundation.
